Plot : The Color Purple 2023
Celie is an African American fourteen-year-old black raised in rural isolation in Georgia. Celie starts writing letters to God because her father, Alphonso, beats and rapes her. She became pregnant for the second time at the age of 14. After she gives birth, Alphonso takes the child away, as he did with her first baby, leaving Celie to believe that both have been killed.
